Epson Chip Restters both 7 pin and 9 pin are used either for refilling Epson ink cartridges OR to get more printable pages from your Epson original ink cartridges. Epson Ink Refills - When the Epson Cartridge says that you have no ink left - you do!!! With a chip re-setter you can simply get the printer to use the maximum amount of ink from a cartridge OR if you are refilling the ink cartridge you will have to re-set the chip on the side of the cartridge so that it is able to print again? Why do Epson put chips onto there ink cartridges? Does it make them any better than the cartridges that they used to produce without them - honestly we don't know why they do it - other thanCLICK HERE - BEST DEALS on INK RESETTERS perhaps to try and discourage manufacturers of compatible ink cartridge from making their products.

Once activated, The Chip Resetter will Re-program the chip on the cartridge, telling it to show a "full" level of ink. You can also use the Chip Resetter to enable you to effectively use up all the ink in your cartridge.

PRINT MORE PAGES - if you buy Epson original ink cartridges you may find that you are being told that you have run out of ink when in fact the cartridge can have up to 30% of its ink left!! Maximise the number of pages you get printed. When the system tells you you have run out of ink - use the chip re-setter and the system will think its full again and allow you to use all of the remaining ink!

How to use the Reset Chip Resetter device:

1. Hold the Chip Resetter, so that the two (green and red) lights are facing upwards.

2. Turn the cartridge upside down so that the outlet holes are also facing upwards.

3. Locate the cartridge into the appropriate slots of the Chip Resetter. This should locate the prongs from the Chip Resetter against the chip. (You will need to use the L shape lug, which detaches from the Chip Resetter for the C70, C80, C82 and 5200).

4. Push the cartridge and the Chip Resetter together.

5. Both lights will flash once simultaneously, then the green light will flash five times to show that chip is reprogrammed.

6. If the red light flashes it may mean either, the prongs are not in line with the chip, or the cartridge you are reprogramming is not an original Epson® Inkjet Compatible.

7. You may now proceed with refilling your cartridge as per instructions in your refill kit.

NEWER EPSON INK CARTRIDGES - T0711 Series, T0791 Series, T0801 Series

We now have the new 9 Chip Resetters in stock which work with all Epson ink cartridges including

T0711/2/3/4
T0791/2/3/4/5/6
T0801/2/3/4

For these newer models you need to use it in a slightly different way to the others - this product will reset the chips on genuine Epson T0711, T0712, T0713, T0714, T0801, T0802, T0803, T0804, T0805 & T0806 cartridges but the you will need to reset your cartridges before the ink level goes below around 40-50%. This is because, on a genuine Epson cartridge, there is a sensor behind the chip that is always immersed in the ink. If the cartridge is empty or low then air will have reached the sensor and it will render the cartridge permanently unrecognisable after resetting. Resetting the cartridge at 40% ink level or above will keep the sensor immersed in ink and therefore stop the cartridge from being rejected.

EPSON INK CARTRIDGES

By choosing to refill your empty ink cartridge, not only are you making HUGE SAVINGS, you are also helping to save the planet. When refilling try and avoid injecting any air bubbles into the cartridge when refilling, as these will be absorbed into the sponge. It is always preferable to have a couple of spare Epson cartridges available so that the refilled cartridges can be left to sit for a while before use; this minimizes problems with air bubbles. Try not to leave Epson cartridges out of the printer; otherwise the exposed print heads can become clogged. Eventually the sponge inside the cartridge will become saturated with air bubbles and will accept less and less ink.

After refilled cartridges are installed, a nozzle test and head clean(s) should be performed to ensure good print results. Epson printers should be turned on at least once every two weeks even if they are not used; this prevents the print heads from drying out. Always turn an Epson printer off when not in use, this ensures the print heads return to the correct position that keeps the print heads from being exposed to air.

As far as we know, the sensor behind the chip on a genuine cartridge performs no other function than to make it difficult for the cartridge to be reset or refilled

Epson Ink Refills

Epson Ink Cartridges _ Inkjet Cartridges for Epson are expensive and sometimes the quality of compatibles are not always assured ( unless you go to Premium Quality Compatible Epson Ink Cartridges) this is why more and more people are opting when their cartridge runs out of in to simply refill it - top up the ink levels, re-set the chip, if you need to and carry on printing saving you ££££'s over the cost of Epson OEM Ink Cartridges. We are the UK's leading suppliers of ink refills with specialist solutions designed for use in Epson Stylus Inkjet Printer Cartridges. The older style of Epson Ink Cartridge can be simply refilled and re-used immediately - newer Epson Printers contain a chip which tells the printer that the cartridge has ink in it!!! This is hugely inaccurate but nevertheless is an integral part of the cartridge and requires the use of a chip re-setter. One Kit can refill some most Epson Ink Cartridges many times - re-setters will work for probably as long as your printer does - so you only ever need to buy one!
